Do I need a credit card to start?
No — not for the Free plan, and not for a paid trial either. You can run the whole app with just an email address. We only ask for payment details if you decide to stay on a paid plan.
Can I change plans later?
Yes — you can upgrade or downgrade at any time from your account settings. Changes take effect at your next billing cycle.
Does Competent Management process payroll?
No. We capture accurate, reviewable labor data and export it in payroll-ready format. You run payroll through your existing processor or accountant.
What happens when my trial ends?
You'll be prompted to pick a paid plan. If you don't, your account drops to the Free plan automatically — up to 5 staff, no card required, no data lost.
Is there a setup fee?
